This week we will attack the tumor three ways. Yesterday Niko started taking the trial drug 5FC, thanks to his oncologist prescribing it, not as part of the Tocagen trial. On Tuesday he will be able to do Avastin again, since a CT scan showed “minimal” bleeding. And then on Wednesday he will start five consecutive days of radiation (with a break over the weekend). So, it is going to be quite a week of treatments, and we hope this aggressive attack will be what it takes to shrink the tumor.

It has been very nice having people stop by for an hour or so most days. Thanks to those of you who have brought us home cooked meals and shared your company these past few weeks, it has made such a difference! We are so lucky to have such good friends and loved ones in our lives.

This week we will be at the hospital every day, so it will be really helpful to have meals to come home to if you are able to bring something!
